DANDASANA

Pronounced Don-dah-sah-nah. 

This pose, also known as Staff Pose, is meant to strengthen the back and improve posture. Sit with your legs straight in front of you, flexing through your ankles and pressing through your heels. Stretch straight up through your spine and press your hands into the floor.

DRISHTI - Sight

Pronounced Drish-tee.

Though Drishti directly translates as “sight,” in yoga it refers to the practice of gazing at a specific focal point to help concentration during yoga poses or meditation. There are nine (9) drishti’s in yoga, and your instructors may direct you to a certain drishti for particular asanas.
