This is the original version of the Bhagavad Gita is in the public domain, which is on the following pages.

The Gita is a dialogue between the warrior-prince Arjuna and the god Krishna who is serving as his charioteer at the Battle of Kurukshetra fought between Arjuna's family and allies (the Pandavas) and those of the prince Duryodhana and his family (the Kauravas) and their allies.

The key philosophical teaching in THE Gita is that the human soul is one with Brahmana, The One True God, The Ultimate God. However, the soul is embodied and unaware that it is one with God. So, the body must go through what is called ‘Samsara’, the cycle of birth and rebirth until it realizes its oneness with God.
