WHAT IS YIN YOGA?

Yin Yoga applies moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body - the tendons, fascia, and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. All poses are on the floor, either seated, supine, or prone, and are held with the muscle relaxed for at least 3 to 5 minutes. This deep practice is gentle yet intense, helping to release tension and practice staying present. Yin beautifully complements all of your existing yoga practices.

This Yin Yoga Teacher Training will have information and training based on the forerunner’s of Yin Yoga - Paulie Zink (the father of Yin Yoga), Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers who developed Yin Yoga from what they learned from Paulie Zink, and Bernie Clark. I have found all four (4) of these teachers to be greatly different in their approach and teaching style of Yin Yoga.

Through each Module - I, II, III and IV we will study each of these teacher’s approach and practice in ‘their way’.

PRE-REQUISITES

  1. Completed a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified teaching program

  2. Show up in a 'teachable' mindset

  3. Completed a pre-interview with the studio owner
    Loretta Standley - DC, E-RYT200, RYT500, YACEP

  4. Completed the application and paid the $50 application fee

  5. Signed Confidentiality, Liability and Photo Agreement

  6. **Must be a member of Yoga Alliance

**I have heard from a few CYTs (Certified Yoga Teachers) who, for one reason or another, was unable to obtain their certificate from the yoga school where they took their training. By making Yoga Alliance Membership a requirement, thereby giving the RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) designation the certificate will be on file with Yoga Alliance and they will have record of the yoga school where the training occurred.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY CERTIFICATION

  1. Each Yin Yoga module - Level I, II, III and IV is 25 hours and will last as long as it takes you to complete 25 hours

  2. This should take you 4 months to complete all four (4) training modules.

    HOW MUCH IS THE CERTIFICATION?

  3. Each 25 Hour Certification Module is fee is $325.00. Sound high? Think of it this way . . .

10 hours of the 25 hours will be 10 - one (1) hour video’s that you submit for your practicum. The other 15 hours are one-on-one with the teacher (Dr. Loretta Standley - E-RYT200, RYT500, YACEP). 15 hours divided by $325 is $21.66 an hour to train and certify you, which is less than what a teacher earns teaching a studio class. Also, when a yoga instructor has a private session with a yogi, that private session is usually around $60 - $75 per hour. So while you will usually see yoga training modules rolling around $300.00, when detailing the fee, it lends a whole new perspective.

  4. $200 off - If all four (4) modules totally $1300 is paid at the start of the first module, the full 100 Hour Certification is $1100 (saving $200). Also if paid by credit or debit card, the card processing fee will also be charged to the card which can be between $27 - $35. If paid by cash or check, the card processing fee would not apply.

  5. You will receive a Pose-itively Yoga Yin Yoga Certificate upon completion
